The Château de Peyrepertuse is located on a limestone ridge at nearly 800 m altitude, at the top of a hill which separates Duilhac from the village of Rouffiac-des-Corbières, overlooking scrubland and vineyards. Strategic position which allows both to see far in the various valleys that surround it, to control the passes or to communicate signals to the castle of Quéribus a little further south.
